Enogastronomic itinerary in the heart of the Maremma
The Wine Route Colli di Maremma is an enogastronomic itinerary that develops in the heart of the Maremma. The route reaches as many as 13 municipalities and 4 DOC wine production areas. In the same territory are also produced oil, salami and honey of excellent quality.
The villages of Orbetello, Scansano, Manciano, Magliano and Monte Argentario are all included in this itinerary. The area is told through its culture, its history and its tradition. The colors and the scents of its hills, which are reflected in the crystalline sea, represent the true essence of this territory and its agricultural activity.
You can follow the route of the Wine Route Colli di Maremma on foot, by motorbike, by car, on horseback or by bike. It is the right occasion to discover some of the most evocative villages and historical places in the area. In this way tourism becomes an experience to live in harmony with nature, following the rhythm of local life.

The 4 DOC wine production areas reached by the Wine Route concern the Morellino di Scansano, the Bianco di Pitigliano, the Ansonica Costa dell’Argentario and the Parrina.
In almost every place crossed by the itinerary it is possible to participate in wine tastings. They are organized in cellars, wine bars, wine bars and farms. Many local producers also allow tourists to visit the vineyards and cellars where wine is placed for aging.
Typical Products of the Colli di Maremma
The hills of the Maremma are a historically agricultural territory with a long tradition behind it. Here some of the most appreciated Italian wines are produced, in some cases very well known also abroad.
The Maremma hills are famous among gourmets also for the production of excellent IGP extra virgin olive oil. The olive groves are a constant feature of the Maremma landscape.
Also from here come basic ingredients for local cuisine: the Sorana Bean, the Saffron, the Honey, the Fresh Fish of the Orbetello Lagoon.
