The second weekend of October takes place in Monticello Amiata the festival of one of the symbols of the tradition of this territory: the chestnut.
A very important product for these places and a product of excellence that over the years has acquired the I.G.P.
To celebrate the chestnut in the country will be prepared tasty traditional dishes that will also feature other local products such as wine, oil, honey and meat.
Through the narrow streets of the center, the cellars will be open for visitors, you will be able to see beautiful views of the medieval village accompanied by the scent of roasted chestnuts, exploring the markets and the workshops dedicated to adults and children.
Also during these days, walks are organized among age-old chestnut woods to collect chestnuts while exploring the area.
